MACEDONIA GATEWAY

Macedonia, OH

Macedonia Gateway is centered around the redevelopment of an existing retail center in a desirable commercial area of Macedonia, approximately 20 miles southeast of Cleveland, Ohio.  The goal of the redevelopment was to repurpose an existing oversized Burlington Coat Factory, and re-demise the building into a smaller Burlington, a TJMaxx, a Nordstrom Rack, a Sephora & an additional smaller tenant space.

The project also significantly updated the dated exterior façade. The City of Macedonia requires the style of architecture to be “Western Reserve” while the new tenants each had their own identity.  The aesthetic requirements of the city often conflicted with the branding requirements of the tenants. CUPKOVIC architecture worked to resolve these conflicts, and allow the uniqueness of each tenant to coexist within a unified design solution.
